Kyle Maxfield

Coach Maxfield is entering his second full year as athletic director and head football coach at BCS, having joined the school in January 2023. 


He led Brentwood to a 6-5 finish, earning a playoff berth, in his first season at the helm (2023). After a 40-7 victory over TMI Episcopal School, Maxfield was also named Dave Campbell’s High School Coach of the Week last season in Week 3. 


Maxfield has over 30 years of teaching, coaching and administrative experience in Texas, including his most recent stops at Bangs High School, Brownwood High School and Shallowater High School. His teams at Bangs and Brownwood made the postseason five of his seven years between the two programs. 


At Shallowater, Maxfield compiled a career football coaching record of 72-18, led the Mustangs to four straight district championships, was the district coach of the year four times and reached the state semifinals in 2014. He began his career as a head coach at Olton in 1999, followed by stops at Sudan, Reagan County and Rosebud-Lott. 


He attended Texas A&M University and lettered for the football program from 1990-1994 under R.C. Slocum; Maxfield was a defensive back and special teams player. He was part of a team which was 28-0-1 in the old Southwest Conference, winning three straight conference titles. He graduated from A&M with his bachelor’s degree and earned a master’s degree from Texas A&M - Commerce. Maxfield also has his principal’s certification. 


Maxfield has three daughters and shares two step-sons with his wife, Dania. He and his family attend Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ.
