2015 TAPPS 3A VOLLEYBALL
Coached by Veronica Lee, the 2015 Brentwood Christian School volleyball won the first-ever athletic state championship in school history, dropping only 1 set in four playoff games en route to the TAPPS 4A title. With a star-studded senior class that included class of 2016 graduates Jami Lee, Keeley Hardin, Blair Westerlund, Kara Teal and Tori Troutman, the Lady Bears posted a 30-10 overall record, won district (13-0) and swept St. Thomas Episcopal in the championship game.
2021 TAPPS 5A BOYS TRACK AND FIELD
Buoyed by the efforts of then-junior Chris Mayo (class of 2022) and its 4x200 relay team winning golds, the Brentwood Christian School boys track and field team captured the TAPPS 5A state championship in 2021. Coached by Corey Washington, the Bears set numerous school records along the way, a few of which still stand, including Nathan Joseph's 15.75 mark in the 110-meter hurdles and Mayo's 21.75 in the 200.
2022 TAPPS 4A GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
As a freshman in 2022, Harper Counts finished in second place with a time of 12:04.20 to help lead the girls cross country team and head coach Katie Smith to the TAPPS 4A state title. All of Brentwood's top five finished inside the top 32 of scoring, including Katie Pittner (14th), Lucy Belcik (25), Hailyn Counts (29) and Lauren Self (32).
2022-23 TAPPS 4A HENDERSON CUP (2022-23)
TAPPS awards the Henderson Cup at the end of each school year to the top point-getter in all six of its classifications, and in 2022-23, Brentwood Christian School earned the prestigious award for the first time in school history. With championships in the TAPPS Academic competition and band, paired with high-level success from cross country (girls state champions), volleyball (state runner-up), dance (state runner-up) among others, the Bears set a new standard of excellence to be proud of for years to come.
2023-24 TAPPS 4A DANCE
Director Lisa Warner and the Lady Bellas fell decimals short of the title the previous season, and they would not be denied in 2023-24. With a veteran group led by captain Lauren Rutt, the Lady Bellas took home the top spot in the TAPPS Dance competition, and followed that up with a regional championship at American Dance and Drill.
2023-24 TAPPS 4A HENDERSON CUP
After earning the TAPPS 4A Henderson Cup for the first time the prior school year, Brentwood Christian School went back-to-back in 2023-24, once again taking the top spot as TAPPS' overall champions. Under the leadership of athletic directors Julie Walker and Kyle Maxfield and a comprehensive school culture of excellence which included state championships in band, dance and girls track and field, the Bears stood alone at the top of an extremely competitive field of prestigious private schools in Texas.
2024 TAPPS 4A GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
Brentwood Christian took home its first girls track and field title in 2024. Harper Counts (first in 3200, second in 1600) and Mattie Hannah (third in triple jump) aided a strong set of relay runners: Lyla Kate Jackson, Emily Mulcahy, Juliet Booker and Ava Johnson took home first in both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays for BCS. The championship was not without drama; Cypress Christian and BCS tied in overall points at the end of the meet and the Lady Bears were awarded the overall state championship after TAPPS' tiebreaking procedures went into effect.
