Recent alumnus Renne Cooper, Brentwood Christian School Class of 2024, was in familiar territory after his first collegiate race for the MIT Engineers - atop the standings.

Cooper won the 8k Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14 with a time of 25:43.30, helping MIT sweep the first, second, and third-place positions at the race.

Cooper and MIT will continue their season on Friday, Oct. 4 at the DIII Pre-Nationals Meet. To keep pace with Cooper's races this season, bookmark this link:

At BCS, Cooper set numerous school records in cross country and track and field; he is the Bears' all-time fastest runner in the 800, 1600 and 3200-meter runs in track and the all-time leader in cross country time, as well.

At this past year's TAPPS 4A State Track and Field Meet, Cooper won all three of his record-breaking events to become an individual state champion and set a TAPPS record in the process. Additionally, Cooper was his class Valedictorian and plans to major in aeronautics and astronautics at MIT.
