Brentwood Christian School juniors and sisters, Hailyn and Harper Counts, are headed to Arkansas this weekend for the annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The Counts sisters will be competing in the "El Caliente 5K" race, which consists of the some of the top high school girls cross country runners in the nation. Harper and Hailyn are set to start their race at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, and anyone interested in keeping up with the meet can do so at the livestream link below.

Harper Counts has been the Lady Bears' top cross country runner since her freshman season in 2022, setting school records numerous times. She currently holds the all-time mark at BCS with a time of 11:33 in the girls 2-mile race.

Hailyn Counts has been a perennial contender for the girls cross country team as well. She has a top-10 finish this year at the Savio Invitational and will be crucial to the team's hopes of performing well at the TAPPS State Meet later this year.

The course for the event is at the University of Arkansas, and proceeds from the event are geared toward helping create lifelong runners in Northwest Arkansas. For more information on the Chile Pepper Festival, which has been around since 198... Click here to read full article
