VOLLEYBALL SET FOR DISTRICT TOURNEY

Volleyball Set for District Tourney

STAFF REPORT

| 10/21/2024

The Brentwood Christian School volleyball team finished 6-1 through the first round of TAPPS 2-5A district play, and this week's district tournament will determine seeding for the program headed into the playoffs.

The Lady Bears (25-12 overall) will face the winner of Bishop Dunne and Brook Hill on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at Live Oak Classical School in Waco.

With a win, BCS would guaranteed itself at least the No. 2 seed from the district heading into the playoffs; a loss would put the Lady Bears in position for either the No. 3 or No. 4. Seeding is fully determined by the results of these next few games.

On the other side of the bracket sits Regents School of Austin, which took down BCS last Friday in a thrilling five-set, 3-2 victory for the Lady Knights. Both teams finished 6-1 in the first round of district action and appear to be on a collision course for a rematch in the tournament final.

Junior Claire Montgomery continues to lead the squad in several major categories, including kills, aces and digs. She and seniors Abigail Kampman and Rayen Flandes will look to guide the team back to the state tournament for the third consecutive season.

Make plans to visit Waco and cheer on your Lady Bears this weekend at Live Oak Classical. The address for the school is 400 S 4th St, Waco, TX.
