Winning came easy to BCS alumnus Renne Cooper, especially his senior season on the cross country and track and field courses, and it seems to have translated to college, too.
Cooper and his MIT men's cross country team, ranked No. 22 in the nation, won the NEWMAC title for the 26th consecutive time, an insane stat that coincides with the origin of the conference.
The former Bear standout held his own in a crowded field, finishing the 8K race in 25:09, good for seventh overall and fourth among his MIT teammates. With his placing, Cooper earned all-conference status and was also named NEWMAC Rookie of the Year in the process.
Cooper and the Engineers will return to the course on Nov. 16 at the NCAA DIII East Regional Championships in New Hampshire. For more, check out the link below.
