The Brentwood Christian School boys basketball team opened its highly anticipated 2024-25 season with a 3-0 trip to the Laredo St. Augustine Tournament on Nov. 1-2, and returned home to some nice local praise as the season gets fully underway for the capital city.
The Bears were recognized as one of the top 10 teams in the Austin area by the Austin American Statesman this week, highlighting a group that reached the state tournament last year and has its sights set on more this time around.
Led by seniors Blake Petty, Coleston Allen and Jake Elvin and juniors Marcus Zelee and Bryant Herring, the boys basketball program has several high-profile games this season against stellar competition, including tonight versus UIL 6A Hutto, next Tuesday, Nov. 12 at UIL 6A Stony Point (also ranked in the AAS top 10) and at home versus Leander Rouse on Dec. 3.
