Brentwood Christian School junior Jacob Valladares was recently honored as one of the top boys soccer players in the Austin area.
The center attacking midfielder for the Bears soccer team was named as one of the best 35 players this season in the Austin American Statesman's rankings, which were released last week.
The list includes public school athletes from local programs such as Round Rock and Austin ISDs as well as private schools such as St. Michael's Prep.
Valladares starred for the Bears last season, notching 18 goals and 29 assists from his midfield spot. The soccer team finished district play 14-0 last season, winning an area-round playoff game in a stellar 2023-24 season.
