The Brentwood Christian School high school swim team competed over the weekend at the New Years Invite, hosted in Round Rock, as they prep for the most crucial meet of their season forthcoming.
The Bears, who have been sharpening iron through 5 a.m. practices and large public school open meets, continued to work toward TAPPS success through a challenging Saturday in the pool.
Senior Jennifer Montier, a silver medalist at the TAPPS state competition last year, was one of the high notes for the girls team. Montier finished fourth in the 100 butterfly and seventh in the 100 backstroke in a crowded field.
Elsewhere, freshman Chayce Lee was seventh in the 100 breaststroke and several of Brentwood's relay teams, both boys and girls, took to the pool in freestyle and medley formats to see where they stack up time wise headed into regional competition.
